While there have been other requests / feedback points regarding the AI chat bot, I feel it is necessary to add to this chorus. Amidsts environmental concerns about 'Generative Ai', as well as repeated mis-use, copyright issues and past controversy, I would like to suggest the removal of Firefox's AI chat bot.
Many companies and web browsers have been integrating generative AI into their products, and personally this has never improved the experience of using said browser - rather, it is the opposite. Generative AI is known to spread misinformation, and is hardly as good at technological support as a human is. Rather than attempting to be the first one to make it work, I would prefer that the energy and funds used for this side of the project are invested elsewhere.
